Chevrolet Volt Incentives Tool Simplifies Things

volthome2The $7,500 federal tax credit may not be the only incentive you’re eligible for when you purchase a Chevrolet Volt. In fact, you may be entitled to state and local utility incentives as well. To clarify things and help you find exactly what’s being offered where you live we’ve created a helpful tool on the various incentives offered for purchase of a Volt.  Of course, all incentives, programs and regulations are subject to change at any time. You will want to consult with a tax professional and financial advisor regarding your particular circumstances. Check out the link here or use the tool below.

We have tried to make this website comprehensive and factual. All incentives, programs and regulations are subject to change at any time. Please consult with a tax professional and financial advisor regarding your particular circumstances.

This is just a tool to help bring awareness to some of the incentives available. For more precise tax information please consult your accountant/CPA.

Re $7500 rebate: it applies only in the year you buy the car. If your tax liability is less than $7500, your rebate will be what your tax liability is. There is no carryover. As a retiree with a Federal tax bill quite a bit less than that, it is a substantial factor that makes it difficult to justify a Volt over a similar-sized high-mileage gasoline powered car.

WEll - not very informative PA also gives a tax credit and rebate- if new car- under 500 miles when purchased. All you have is something about PECo... and not really any information about what thats about!

Had a terrible day this past weekend with the Volt. Flat tire driver side, on a wonderful Saturday afternoon. Me and my wife are very disappointed with the whole no spare tire thing. Tire sealant did not do its job. Bubbled out. Had to keep adding air to get to the shop. Owners manual said 255/60 16, but actual size is 255/60 17.

How bout an incentive to trade in my Honda or Toyota Hybrid with a rebate substantially more than the "normal" trade in value?

To view the incentives, you just have to click on either the United States or Canada button.

The problem with flash, html5, is that people feel the need to produce informative displays using the latest thing to provide information which could simply be displayed in a table using plain old HTML that would work on a smart toaster or a genius of a doorbell/intercom device. The proliferation of increasing complexities used on the web shows how information's value is being protected and babelized instead of simplified and made universal. In the distant future people will wonder why it took so long for people to come to grips with competing bloatware methods of info sharing.
In the meantime, commodore64, AppleII, and IOS users should simply click the link. Yes, people have put a TCP/IP stack on those devices for no other reason than Because They Can. Flash and a multimedia enabled web page that changes with every new technology that comes out is and always Will be a hindrance to refrigerators that simply Know when that you are out of food and are able to suprise you with a fresh pizza delivery arriving in the driveway behind you.

It's "inconvenient" to plug it in? I have a 110 outlet in my garage... It's much more inconvenient to have to pay for gas! My commute is only 8 miles.
iPad users: You didn't know? (What a bunch of crybabies! )
THIS IS THE CAR OF THE FUTURE! When they get a little cheaper I will buy one.

The new Chevrolet Volt looks amazing, its the perfect next gen car. The interiors are also impressive. I cant believe that the car is a hatchback but it looks like a sedan. Its my recent favorite.

I was in Hare Chevrolet to purchase a car in July 2011. I asked if the volt was available soon. I was lied to and told 3 to 5 years. Not long after that, they popped up all over the area. I ended up with a Malibu and was offered 5,000 less then I paid for it on trade. I'm now stuck with a car payment and no electric. I wanted a electric at the end of December to get the federal rebate on my taxes and that's not gonna happen.

New York? Where is my incentive? I get to drive in the HOV lane? Let's get it cooking here! How about a tax incentive? Free charging station? Something to make us take notice?

In the state of WA electric vehicle purchases are not subject to sales tax. I guess this not apply to VOLTs due to the gas consumption. In the case of a LEAF it is another incentive of ~9% which equates to another ~$2,500 (total of $10,000 incentive when added to the $7,500 tax incentive) vs buying a gas car.

Nice tool! Works perfectly on my Lenovo touchscreen Windows laptop. This is handy in case your salesperson fails to let you know about these benefits. Mine did, and I am enjoying my $3,500 state rebate. I assume the $7,500 federal one will take place when I file my 2011 taxes.

Dirk,

You going to need a PC or Android that runs Flash to use the tool. It will not work on IOS since Apple has banned Adobe.

Georgia now allows Volts to get AFV tags, which means they get HOV / HOT lane access. You need to update your tool with that information.
