Bob Sokoler, a realtor from Louisville, Kentucky, says he fell madly in love with his Volt the minute he got behind the wheel. His love affair began in January 2011 when he ordered his vehicle. He flew to New Jersey to pick up his car three months later. During that first drive back to Louisville with his 85-year-old dad (who's also become a big fan of his son's wheels), he came to appreciate the car's style and concept almost immediately. He even decided to document his driving journey on his very own Volt Blog.

Sokoler, who says he's always been an early adopter of new technologies, calls his Volt ownership a no-brainer. "I Love my Volt and think it's far exceeded my expectations," he says. For one thing, he calls his gas millage "unbelievable." "I average 60-65 miles per gallon on my busiest weeks. Normally I run 70-75 miles per gallon, and there have been weeks where I have hit 125-130 per gallon," he says. On average, by charging regularly Volt Owners are going 900 miles between fill ups.

Beyond all of the gas savings, Sokoler sees being a Volt driver as a patriotic endeavor. "We need to start thinking local, buying American, and investing back in ourselves." he says. One investment he made right away was right in his garage. "I added a 240 volt charging station and I charge in about 4 hours."

On the other hand, Sokoler admits that his Volt has been the cause of him getting tied up in conversations he wasn't expecting during his busy workdays. "I've had to add more time to my schedule on a daily basis. For example, while checking up on a client's home, a neighbor stopped me to look at the car. I'm always asked the same questions: how do I like it, what does it drive like, and how far can I go?" he says. The good news is that he enjoys the Q&A sessions. Even better? "I've found my clients appreciate my attempt to reduce pollutants and they enjoy the technology the Volt offers."
