Want an exciting way to kick off a great race weekend in Detroit? Invite fifty Detroit Area Volt Owners to take a plant tour of Detroit Hamtramck and drive their personal Volts for a “silent” lap on the Belle Isle Grand Prix track.
Detroit Hamtramck and Brownstown Assembly Plant leaders graciously welcomed the owners for a plant tour and panel discussion. The owners had a lot of interest in the Volt’s build process and the model changes for 2013. With a police escort the fifty plus Volts paraded from the plant to the track at the Grand Prix. By running on electricity, it was definitely the quietest lap of the weekend’s events. That being said, it was no less thrilling though for this group of owners.
