I have just traded and finally got away from the import (Prius). Loved the Japanese car, but trying to be more "patriotic" and working to help out Detroit and the country in general; I just received a 2011 volt that was available and stil new! Boy I wish the car sold better, I got a good discount, and actually saved close to $10,000, and that is before the tax break I can qualify for, now price wise there was NO excuse, the car was competive price wise and is actually a fantastic machine! Just got it 6/22, it is out in my driveway (ain't got no Garage!) charging on the 110 and NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, it is 6:am and it (The Volt) is ready and fully charged! The local dealer was in a bind, could not sell this DEMO it had every option known to man, and the dealer was pressured by GM to just buy the car at the dealership, and the business could not stand it. So the owner who actually was using that car that never sold, discounted the car substantially enough to give GM their moneys., and gave me a good trade deal on a 2007 Prius. Adding up the numbers the expense was the same for either the 2012 Prius and the Chevy Volt so BUY AMERICAN.
