I hate this commercial so much. That phrase she say and the way she says it are like nails on a chalkboard. It is even annoying on mute.

In response to Steveb; You don't have to understand marketing; just math. A new Volt costs $45,000, I'm told. You can easily buy an economical "gas" powered car for less than half of that cost. Figure out how long you plan to own the car say 5 years, and the Volt is costing you twice as much or more to own.

i personally don't care for the "volt owner" commercials because i generally find them to be quirky. many of the participants on the volt blogs had been proponents of such commercials but i think that many of the participants on volt blogs tend to be "volt evangelists/enthusiasts" who are no very representative of the larger automobile consumer market that is more likely to look at the volt as being just a car.

I agree completely with sammy. I mute the Volt commercials as soon as they come on. This woman is not only totally obnoxious, she is also a complete idiot. She has a "small part" in another commercial in which she tells us that she has forgotten how to put gasoline into her car. Based on this woman's stupidity and obnoxiousness, I would not even consider buying a Volt.

This advertisement is a horrendous embarrassment. Spending the savings generated by not buying gasoline to go on a trip to Hawaii is akin to spending the pent up emotion that you didn't use to beat your wife to punch out your children.
It's truly embarrassing that a company that claims to be "committed to continuous improvement as we reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles and facilities" http://www.gm.com/environment would suggest that their customers behave in such an environmentally reckless manner. I'm thoroughly disgusted that my tax money was used to support such an organization. You should be ashamed.

I hate that commercial. The woman is TOTALLY obnoxious. There is no way that I will even look at a Volt until that woman disappears from all commercials.

I'm sure I don't understand marketing, but I fail to understand why GM doesn't advertise the efficiency of the electric motor. I've figured it many ways, and the best I can work out, I'm paying about $20 per month for transportation - as opposed to about $130 for a gas car that gets 25mpg ($3.25/gal), driving the same distance. When I tell people this, they don't believe me at first. Then they are stunned. Indeed, I was stunned myself. I think that is the kind of information that gets people's attention.
