Safety is of the utmost importance when first responders arrive at the scene, for both them and the people they are assisting. That’s why it’s crucial they get the knowledge and training they need to save lives on the next generation of electric vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt.
Don Scott is a Jake Sweeney Chevrolet Sales Consultant in Ohio and helps lead a team that goes to area fire departments to provide first responders safety training on the Volt. He has also worked as a firefighter and EMT and knows the importance of proper technique when it comes to new technology. He and his team know that watching a training video is good, but actually providing hands-on simulations and examples is something completely different. You can learn about the work he is doing by visiting this link.
Chevrolet and GM have been working with the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) to train first responders across the country on proper techniques on dealing with emergency situations involving electric vehicles. You can view a video on this below.
