The voting is over, and the results are in! “Viridian Joule” earned the most of your almost 3,000 votes and is the winning color name in Chevrolet’s Volt Paint-Color Naming Contest. Dave Thomas, 40, of Sanford, Fla., submitted the winning name, and following the announcement of his win, became the first consumer to drive the Volt.

Approximately 300 votes separated “Viridian Joule” from the second place entry, “environMINT,” submitted by Matthew Valbuena, 29, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.  A mere 100 votes separated “environMINT” from the third place entry, “EV-ergreen” submitted by Devin McQuarrie, 30, of San Jose. Each of the finalists is in Los Angeles, where they’ll have the chance to see the Volt up close and meet some of the engineers behind the vehicle.
